My name is Juan Jesús Roldán Gómez. I hold a PhD in Automation and Robotics from the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid (UPM) and I am an Associate Professor at the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid (UAM).
My research focuses on the application of the latest Artificial Intelligence techniques in the field of Robotics.
Some of my most recent works include:
- Application of artificial intelligence techniques to provide autonomy to the robots that intervene in disaster scenarios: neural networks for multimodal information processing, autoencoders for anomaly detection, diffusion models for environment analysis, and large language models (LLMs) for human-robot interaction.
- Reinforcement learning to train robots to carry out complex tasks: modular reinforcement learning through behaviors and fusion blocks, collaborative optimization with multiple intelligent and stupid agents...
- Teaching innovation in robotics: realistic project-based learning and outreach through short videos for social media.
